Back to the grind.
I’d be lying if I told you that today was easy. Nothing went wrong. It was just really hard to get back into the swing of things after being away from my office for 12 days. And I must admit, it was a really great and much needed 12 days off.
Surprisingly enough, I gave myself enough time to get ready, eat breakfast and have a cup of coffee before heading off to work. I think I just found...

The Cosmopolitan
This week, I’m in Vegas for the WOMMA Summit and the conference is in The Cosmopolitan Hotel. Naturally, this is where we’re staying. And OMG. Just… OMG.
My room is larger than my apartment (just about).
King bed? Yes, please.
Walk through the shower to get to the Japanese Bathtub.
Venture out to the terrace for a view of Las Vegas.
The hotel is so modern and this...

The Sad, Beautiful Fact That We're All Going To... →
“…what we’ve seen is always going to be a very small cup dipped out of a very big ocean, and turning your back on the ocean to stare into the cup can’t change that.”
London: Day 7
Ahh, London and their Bank Holidays. Today, we were fortunate enough to be free of many meetings and I wasn’t about to waste our last full day in London in the hotel room. I grabbed Dan and we headed to the Borough Market, which came highly recommended from a variety of people.
The Borough Market was incredible. It’s a wholesale and retail market just off the London Bridge Tube stop....
London: Day 6
More meetings took over Day 6. And they were all over the city. I believe we got off the train at Oxford Circus 4 separate times.
In any event, one of our meetings was nearby the Farringdon Tube Station. This area was very cute. I’m blown away by the intricate architecture and the cobblestone drives. “They built these buildings to really last, didn’t they?” Marc...
London: Day 5 (a little late)
Day 5 was full of meetings. Not much exploring of new territory, except that we did get off the Tube at the Paddington station and all I could think about was the bear :)
It’s an interesting situation being in a foreign country, a place that’s completely new, and be focused on working, meetings, impressions, appearance and not getting lost as opposed to thinking about leisure and...
London: Day 4
Woke up combating a cold this morning. Ugh. But, powered through meetings all day today!
Our first meeting was in East London - Old Street. This area reminded me a lot of SOMA in San Francisco. Gutted warehouses bursting with startup energy.
After our first meeting, we walked along the canal to Angel, scoping out the houseboats and basking in the glorious 75 degree sunshine.
Our next meeting...
London: Day 3
I slept through the whole night last night! WEE!!! That’s a HUGE accomplishment in combatting jet lag. But, now, of course, I feel a cold coming on. Must. Sleep. More.
The beauty of traveling somewhere that’s a full 8 hours ahead of where you live is that your regular workday doesn’t begin until about 5pm. This is brilliant.
Today, Dan and I went to the Tower of London while...
London: Day 2
Jet lag isn’t killing me as much as I had anticipated, but I was awake from 4am to 6am this morning. Then, of course, promptly fell into deep sleep just as my alarm went off. Other than that, I suppose I’m adjusting to London time quite nicely!
Breakfast this morning consisted of a traditional English breakfast at the Waffle Palace near our hotel. Must be frank, I’m not a fan....
London: Day 1
First off, the flight from SFO to LHR wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be! Spent the first 2 hours chatting and working, drank several glasses of (free) red wine, popped a “sleeping aid” and woke up an hour before we were going to land. I don’t even have a neck cramp, thanks to my trusty new neck pillow.
After taking a taxi to Hyde Park area (where our...
Ho-ly-crap. I’m officially going to London. In fact, in two weeks, I’LL BE THERE.
I’m nervous and scared and excited and thrilled all at the same time. I’ve never been to Europe before. There’s so much I want to see and I don’t even know where to start. I, of course, have to play any touristy activities after work (yes, I’m going for work!), but that...

Taking Bikram for the first time tomorrow!
I’m taking my first Bikram Yoga class tomorrow at Funky Door Yoga on Polk St. My beloved, Casi, has told me to bring a large bath towel along with my yoga mat. Also, she told me to drink a TON of water (backed up by Doniree) and bring lots of water with me. And apparently I need to wear practically nothing.
Anyone else have tips?
Frankly, I’m scared.

Lesson learned. #reverb10
I’m a few days behind, and I’m picking and choosing which #reverb10 posts to write about (and apparently when). There aren’t rules, are there? Eh? Eh?
I loved @tea_austen’s prompt:
Lesson learned. What was the best thing you learned about yourself this past year? And how will you apply that lesson going forward?
2010 was a year of “alone.” It was the...
Body.
Body Integration. This year, when did you feel the most integrated with your body? Did you have a moment where there wasn’t mind and body, but simply a cohesive YOU, alive and present?
Whoa. This is a perfectly timed prompt for #reverb10.
I’ve actually kept my “body talk” relatively offline, but now seems like a good time to discuss the changes I’ve made in...
Beautifully Different - #Reverb10
The Beauty of Different - @chookooloonks
Beautifully different. Think about what makes you different and what you do that lights people up. Reflect on all the things that make you different - you’ll find they’re what make you beautiful.
I’ve had a really hard time with this prompt today. I can’t say it’s because I don’t know how to reflect (we all know...
Perfect.
“You forgot how very, very dark and quiet it gets at night. You forgot what it was like to sleep deeply…You forgot how much you like your shitty little apartment and your sketchy friends and your familiar work.”
When you come back.
Wonderment. #reverb10
Today’s #reverb10 prompt absolutely made me think.
Wonder. How did you cultivate a sense of wonder in your life this year? (via @JeffreyDavis108)
This past year seems like it was all about wonder. New experiences. New people. Creating this new life has been full of wonder. I know yesterday’s prompt was about feeling alive, but I think cultivating a sense of wonder is nearly...
Moment. #reverb10
Moment. Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. (via Ali Edwards)
Honestly, I thought this prompt for #reverb10 would be easy. I even smiled when I read it in my inbox, thinking to myself, “oh, this one should be easy.” But now that I sit down to write it, I can’t think of one moment in 2010 where I didn’t feel alive.
San Francisco makes me feel alive....
I'm not eliminating anything. #reverb10
Today’s prompt for #reverb10 startled me.
“Writing. What do you do each say that doesn’t contribute to your writing — and can you eliminate it?”
I’ve known, since the fifth grade, that I wanted to be a writer. Every day since Mrs. McKenzie told me that whatever I did in life, I needed to write, I’ve set out to accomplish that goal. With each action, each...

I received an email from OKCupid this afternoon alerting me that “one of these 9 people just gave me high marks.” Ok, 8 out of the 9 people look TERRIFYING and like no one I’d ever date. Sorry, yes, I’m judging your photos.
But ONE of them, is adorable. Go ahead and guess which one. When I click on his photo, OKCupid makes me play the “Quickmatch” game...

Spot-on Horoscope
Wednesday, Nov 3rd, 2010 — You may be more concerned today about professional issues and your role in the community. It seems as if others look to you for guidance now, yet they don’t necessarily want you to take over. They only need you to listen and then reflect upon what they’ve said. You can be an amazingly effective leader now by being part of the team instead of assuming...

Haunted.
I had a dream about my ex last night that’s been haunting me throughout the whole day. I’ve dreamt about him before, generally in a reminiscent, nostalgic way. Remembering how things were. How they used to be. The dreams have all taken place in the past — reminding me of what we had, and no longer do.
This dream last night, however, took place in the present. And it was eerily...
